Brad made some great points, but I still understand why you feel there is unfinished business. The police accused you of being a pedophile, and when they couldn't find any evidence, they just wanted it to go away. They did not apologize, or attempt to clear your name. They just make a mess of a man's life and walked away. Given half a chance, they would have ruined your whole life, no joke. But if you do the same to them, they elicit the help of an international search engine. It's gross. The way the force treated you is gross. They're pompous and self-righteous. I hope you do move on from this, but I ALSO hope they learn something from this, for a change. I'm still with ya Charles
charles if it happened to Brad would or anyone else would they let it go they are all in it together , they all work together and cover each other they just want it to be forgotten without apologizing they are all a bunch of snobs one is as guilty as the other none is better

ReplyDeletethey fucked up and need to apologize and make amends.IF it had happened to Brad, he would have had Pete Mockler suing the force and there would have been a big out of court settlement, the details of which would be sealed forever.
ReplyDeleteJustice is often blind..but persuaded by many factors, not always the truth and the right course of action.
I like how he tries to brush it off initially then just basically finally says that he agrees with shutting down bloggers who criticize city employees. He wants you to get over being falsely labelled a pedophile and your effects searched gestapo style, have that un-elected city manager write a cheque out for some counselling.

Thats what I love about your blog charles, every time you get a politician talking they sound like complete idiots. Although up to the last minute or so it wasn't too bad, but then because you made a reasonable request which he has no intention, or maybe power, of following, he has to turn it back on being about you. Yeah right, getting arrested at Atlantica and a cop lying on the stand, getting fired from your job at the legislature, getting banned from the legislature without even a means to address it, getting an idiotic ticket after videotaping a police beating, getting arrested on an unconstitutional charge and having computer equipment stolen.....but Charles REAL enemy is ....himself! Wow, does that come from a professional politician or WHAT??
ReplyDeleteAnybody that DIDN"T think Bernard Richard's report was a whitewash now has pretty good evidence. At least one councillor didn't even read it, and the Mayor doesn't want to go near it. The idea that the POLICE could be the much bigger problem hasn't occurred to a brain that thinks callling people 'snobs' is over the line. Google never shut down his blog because he called people 'snobs', heck, I don't even remember the last time he did it.
Charles spends far more time praising the people in Fredericton-protestors, activists, even sometimes politicians, volunteers, workers, you name it. That Woodside would complain about the 'snobs' comment pretty much means, well, you guessed it. I grew up just outside fredericton and went to school there. Everybody knows what a snobby town it is, although thats typically true of most government towns because government workers tend to be especially snobby because the only way you get a government job is by who you know, which usually leads to a sense of self entitlement.
Good blog Charles, once again it shows that you are the reasonable one, and the institutions are the ones with the real problem. Keep in mind two things. Police have a very good union, and the city has an obligation to aid its workers, meaning, the city administrator may have had little choice. And second, Google has a lot of money and thin skin. Which means they can also be threatened with a lawsuit.
The real tragedy here is that we see that its ONLY by being 'over the line' that Charles can actually get attention to his pretty legitimate issues. That obviously sets a pretty bad example in a civil society.
Good interview Charles, just don't buy into his last minute or so of saying 'you' are your biggest problem. Its true that I told you to stop, but sadly its also true that perhaps that was the ONLY way to keep from being ignored. You could have sued them for millions, and these people talk as if you are problem, and not their own institutions.

ReplyDeleteIf the police would do their freaking job right and a poll the laws of the city properly instead of allowing young punks to drive their bicycles on the sidewalks and run their skateboards on the sidewalks, then maybe the citizens would have a little more respect for our men in peace officer uniforms. FREDERICTON CITY POLICE TO WHAT WE TAXPAYERS ARE PAYING YOU TO DO KEEP THE SKATEBOARDERS OFF OF THE DAMN SIDEWALKS, AND KEEP ADULT AND TEENAGED CYCLISTS OFF OF THE SIDEWALKS.
