Excellent video, you pull it off in both languages, not many can alternate between the languages without losing something in the translation.
Does these rat lines actually deter criminal activity, what interesting only a small percentage of those who engage in criminal activity gets caught. The professional or career criminal rarely gets caught they are the ones who seem to get the greatest return on their investments.
This anonymity behind the rat lines does allow some members of the the community to us it for other reasons then the intent of the rat line.
In the Vienneau's case, the person who called the false information about Michel which led to his death is as guilty as the officer who pulled the trigger.
One thing about police psychology is that they are very very conservative when it comes to risk assessment, they will always play out the worst case scenario and they will not take the chance if there is a potential that individual may be a threat especially if the person is with 20 to 30 feet away. Chances are the end result isn't going to be good for that person.
The point is that person who anonymously called crime stoppers and lied affected the lives of many people, the victim and his family, the police officer and his family. Yet that anonymous caller while assume no responsibility nor face the consequences of f#%king up the lives of those people involved.
That officer, we don't know what the long term affect is going to be on him realizing he kill someone based on false information, unless the office is a psychopath, it has to negatively affect him. When we think about police it is easy to forget the human side, Officers are human, because they are human they behave as as emotional and rational units. Some like the rest of the population, some decisions making are influence by emotion, others by rationality.
To wrap up this discussion the person who is ultimately responsible for the outcome at the via rail station in Bathurst is the rat face rat who called crime stoppers and if there is anyway of identifying that caller, he/she should be prosecuted both criminally and civilly. Maybe hanged, drawn and quartered might be to merciful for this anonymous rat face.
