Everyone loves you when you're dead.
Charles,
Irving-owned media demonized Ron Francis and made his life among us even more unbearable. The man was prescribed a legal medicine by a doctor and he objected to the unfounded stigma attached to his use of that medicine. He got to the root of the issue by taking his medicine in public while on the job, as he had every right to do... the treatment he received from the RCMP was inhuman and despicable. His death and heavily attended funeral reminded me a of line that could not be more appropriate: "Everyone loves you when you're dead."

ReplyDeleteCharles: You are painting yourself with a dirty brush. Be very careful of who you drink with.
ReplyDeleteOf course a number of RCMP and City Police officers showed up. They are afraid someone might make them accountable for the death that they caused. There will never be enough words to explain the assault on Mr. Francis in the name of a wellness check.
ReplyDeleteBrown very quickly jumped on national TV to say that the RCMP did all they could for Mr. Francis. He should have finished the sentence. All that they could to get rid of a problem. He has yet to explain who ordered the assault/wellness check. Perhaps in the next news conference he will.

ReplyDeleteI don't think you appreciate how difficult it is to be prescribed medical marijuana in New Brunswick. We are behind the times in treating mental health issues and taking medical marijuana does not make a person a druggy. It is often far more effective than other prescription drugs and is certainly a more healthy option than alcohol, which is what most people suffering in the way Ron did turn to.
