I just heard the sad news last weekend and confirm it with his brother this evening...
His Brother said that Jerry is asking for people to pray for him!!!!..:(..He's a VERY nice guy.....:)..known by many.....

ReplyDeleteGerald Richard McCarty - January 18, 1943 - November 30, 2017
The passing of Gerald Richard McCarty occurred peacefully with his family
by his side at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Thursday, November 30,
2017. Born in Fredericton New Brunswick on January 18th, 1943 he was the
son of the late Harold and Lillian McCarty.
Gerald was well known and liked throughout Fredericton and area. In his
earlier days, Gerald was a butcher at Victory Meat Market, working closely
with friends and family. He also took great pride in and worked hard, long
days at his trucking and janitorial business. Gerald gave the best of himself to
his family. During his down time, Gerald immensely enjoyed playing piano in
his band and has played with a countless number of musicians throughout his
years, many of whom he counted as dear friends.
Gerald is survived by his wife Elizabeth ('Elly' Peters), children: Tina, Harry,
Thane, and Lisa (Joshua Dick); grandchildren: Melissa, Chris, Amanda,
Richard, Tori, Taylor, James and Kyle; seven brothers: Thomas, Robert,
Harold Jr., Read, Brian, Wayne and Roger; seven sisters: Loretta, Georgina,
Doreen, Rose Marie, Judy, Valerie and Christine; Tracy McCarty (mother of
Tori and Taylor); as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased
by son Jerry; daughter-in-law Alma; sisters Betty Ann, Sandra and Barbara;
brother, Joseph.
Gerald is resting at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive where the
family will receive friends and visitors on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from
2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 4,
2017 at 11 am at St. Margaret's Anglican Church, 775 Forest Hill Road, with
Rev. Richard Robinson officiating. Interment will take place at Sunny Bank
Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the St. Margaret's
Anglican Church Building Fund, the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Everett
Chalmers Hospital, the Fredericton Homeless Shelter, or a charity of the
donor's choice. Personal condolences may be offered through
