I drive downtown two to three times a week. There are anywhere from 3-5 people driving their bikes on the sidewalk. I note with disgust that only the poor are stopped and fined. In Charles case, this is total revenge by the FPFarce by the higher ups. What a corrupt City.
Here we go again - a third party complaint accepted, when they won't accept third party complaints against anyone else. As 10:02 said lots of people cycling on the sidewalk and with not helmet but they are not ticketed. Wow. This is a vendetta.
The truth is : You have a big mouth, you do drive on the sidewalk ( you admit it yourself and you even filmed yourself doing it). You probably pissed off someone and they have the right to complaint. You will see who the person is as this person provided a statement. The police dont control who goes and complaint to them. Like I said, your poor attitude probably caused this. Your big mouth is causing people to maybe hate you leblanc.
The point is Charles is treated differently. Many hundreds of people cycle on the sidewalk - even past police officers - and are not stopped or ticketed. Having a big mouth is not an offence. The cops don't like that someone is showing people how corrupt they are. This is more than a vendetta - Charles has civil actions against the City and the mayor is trying to stop them.
You got to be F..ing kidding me. I just lost all respect for this City's police force. It proves what Charles has been saying about the police is true. What a waste of tax payers money. I feel bad for the officers who were made to serve the ticket by their higher ups. Embarrassing!!!
the police have to be retaliating against Charles for him standing up to the officers in court i have never heard tell of cops coming two months after the fact to be served. I'm from Nova Scotia and the cops don't do that here and frankly i am ashamed to even tell people from back home i live here in Fredericton. seems like there just trying to get him to stop reporting the crap that happens in town and there trying every sneaky way possible but that's just my opinion correct me if i am wrong.I truly feel bad for what Charles has to go threw on daily basis frown emoticon
also how is it legal to wait two weeks before court to know who made a complaint?I thought they have to give you enough time to find a lawyer etc? am i wrong or the justice system works totally backwards than NS?

A police car goes by or perhaps stops along the street right beside them. But of course, a third party complaint trumps seeing it first hand any day. This, pal, has the fingerprints of yer ole buddy "Freddy da Freeloader" all over it. Talk about a biased buncha bastards. They're still; lickin' their wounds, my friend, from bein' exposed gangin' up and beatin' the snot out of a soldier. They still aint got over that yet. Somebody else got one up on them and it pissed them off. Big time. GO GIT 'EM, BIG GUY, GO GIT 'EM!!!!
The police have changed their tactics, they are using what is called passive aggressive strategy against you. Passive aggressive is defined as: As deliberate and masked way of expressing covert feelings of anger (Long, Long & Whitson, 2008) What the boy and girls in blue are doing is using the third party complaint to get to you. Their betting that if this complaint is successful it will encourage people to "Rat you out" on all municipal by-law infraction.
A way to counter this and anyone can do it. On any given day look for anyone who is parking in a zone that the meter is expired. Wait until the person leaves, record the license plate number and make a third party complaint against that person for violating the city's parking by-law. If the police does as what they have done in your case they will pursue, if not then they will have to answer why they did not pursue it.
Of course it would have to be someone else besides yourself, because if you do it they will say that your actions are just vindictive and frivolous like they did a couple of years ago when you photo graphed a couple of Alwards ministers jaywalking and you made a third person complaint against them. If I recall the police said they did not act on it because your complaint was frivolous.
good luck charles ,you are up against a very corrupt justice system ,and this corruption goes right into the non independent attorney generals office , The appeal judge refuses to deal with the points of appeal ,(wonder what they were ) but orders new trial based on the lies of two senior government officials ,where is the justice in a made up case that had no basis in any law and this was well known by the government ,
I remember when CL started blogging. He was just trying to tell a local story. From the start though he was met with persecution from those in power because they feel above the 'common man'. Those holding public positions decided he shouldn't be allowed to tell his story and thus the battle began. To look at just what transpired recently is ridiculous.
