A Fredericton police officer convicted on assault and damage to property charges has been reinstated.
Constable Darrell Brewer was off-duty when the incident happened July 1st, 2012, and he was found guilty on December 2nd, 2013.
He was issued a conditional discharge and 8 months probation.
Fredericton Police say a Police Act investigation was completed, and Cst. Brewer will serve a period of unpaid suspension in addition to completing special training and reorientation before being assigned to active police work on the streets.
In a release, police say the disciplinary and corrective measures imposed are consistent with the measures imposed upon police officers in other jurisdictions who have engaged in similar conduct.
They say the aim is to correct and educate the officer, and no further comment will be issued.

I guess the discipline didn't work. That is why he should have been fired.
ReplyDeleteSounds like some members of FPF maintain its goon squad tradition while they flaunt disrespect for their chief who is powerless to union interference.
