Complaint
On February 10th, 2015, at around 4:00pm, I had some business to take care of at the Justice Building. On my way in, at the security screening desk, a sheriff I believe to be Peter (or Patrick?) Crawford had a very inappropriate attitude towards me.
I know the routine and he checked me with his metal dictator. He was concerned about what was in my pocket. It was some Kleenex. He then asked me for my belt. I never been asked for my belt in the past and he demanded that I showed the bottom of my leg pants.
I didn't have a clue what he was talking about. He then poked me on my chest with the metal detector. You can check the video – and I want a copy of it. What would have happened if I would have reacted?
He demanded that I leave the building because of my poor attitude, which he has no right to do and which the law doesn’t allow for.
Then his boss came and explained to me why he wanted to search the bottom of pants. 99% of the time I don't have any problems with the staff but why are they singling out certain individuals??? How come lawyers are not searched while entering the Justice Building?
The reason I decided to file a complaint is at least I'm on record that a certain member of the sheriff team has an attitude against me. Attitude is the utmost importance in this line of work!
Why poke me with the metal detector? He had no right to do that. His conduct was not appropriate and poking me with the wand was entirely unprovoked.
Please provide the video of this incident.
I had no choice but to filed a complaint. If I have problems with the same guy in the future? At least I'm on record to record this confrontation!!!! I emailed a copy of this email to Wilfred Roussel, Stephen Horsman and Brian Gallant. Of course, I will blog this complaint also.

Good for you, the person in question had no right doing what he did. By the way, I tried to leave comment on blog, though it wanted my email and password. I pass. So i'm leaving my comment here. Good Luck.

ReplyDeleteI agree with the people who say "charge him." If you had done that to him, you would have been criminally charged with assault. Disgraceful conduct - yet again by a man in a NB uniform, endorsed and assisted to persecute people by the government of the province.
ReplyDeleteThey are bored and love to assault people. There should be a survey about the thug behaviour in the courthouse. Many have been assaulted there and the always justify it. What would you have in your cuffs. Have they any reason to believe you were bringing in drugs which would be about all you could hide in your cuffs. it would probably be wet given the time of year. Checking your cuffs is just another way of harassing you.
