Stand up for people Charles who can’t stand up for themselves. Be their voice 👍. Be their Champion. Most of those employed at Social Welfare do the same , don’t put them all in the same Boat . Some amazing human beings and champions just like you work there 😀
They did the exact thing to me too,, Charles....I was receiving social assistance and even though I really wanted to wait until I turned 65 before being started on pension.....The "welfare" jumped right on it, immediately cancelling any future assistance and (against my wishes) started my pension when I turned 60.....the benefits are much lower than the welfare checks....etc, etc
they are supposed to give you the difference if pension is lower than welfare check,y are supposed to just take off the difference even though it is earned money but because it is gvnt, nope, does not apply.I was never so glad at 65 to get my OAS.freedom from BS.
