Just FYI, the Green Party also has done some work on stopping spraying of glysophates, namely roundup, cosmetically on lawns. While stopping spraying on the forests is a no brainer, at the very least those guys are trained in its application. Its absolutely insane that any person can walk into canadian tire or any other store and pick up the same chemical and pour it on their lawn and pour the rest of the bottle down the drain. Its scary how often new brunswick public policy decisions meet the criteria for 'insane', but this is definitely in that category. Mr. Coon has brought it up in the legislature, but nobody pays attention to that, so another group is going to be formed this fall looking at banning the use of cosmetic pesticides. At least in the forest they have the bad excuse in that it meets the aims of industry, for lawns its well known that if you have weed problems, you have SOIL problems, which spraying a chemical won't fix.
And worse than that, in the landscaping and homeowner 'industries', these are right on top of water supplies. Like I said, thats nuts to butts.
