You have a stroke charles, or just a sucker for a pretty face?:) Of all the problems in fredericton policing trails for helmets is pretty stupid, but I'll send you a helmet. You've been right all along though, a UBC study two years ago showed that helmet laws have done nothing to decrease head trauma in cyclists. Municipalities use these as excuses to show they are 'doing something' to protect cyclists. What has been shown to work is separated laneways on roadways and getting more people on bikes on the road since the more cyclists a driver encounters, the more used to them they get. But heaven forbid a city government actually look at the facts.
In the sixties they used to push the idea that car deaths werent' the result of car design but the 'nut behind the wheel', which we know is false. The same goes with cycling, the emphasis is to have stupid laws like this so that when somebody gets hurt, the cyclist can be blamed. We know what works, we also know that city's simply don't want to spend the money to develop the infrastructure. But glad to see you aren't taking it out on kids just doing a job.
