  1. The system of Government in NB reeks of duality, which means doing things twice, doesnt it? Victor even openly uses the term DUALITY, which NB neither needs or can afford. This is a divisive and costly exercise we can ill afford on any level. As we teeter on insolvency in NB, words of another ruler out of touch with reality come to mind,"let them eat cake". This is a terrible way to use precious tax dollars. Tax Payer John.

  2. I hate to say it Charles, but you're wasting your time with Victor Boudreau. He in the Liberals whether they be Provencial New Brunswick liberals or federal liberals, are nothing more than a bunch of socialists. They have their own agenda and the ordinary person on the street is nothing more than a Pawn to them. That is one of the reasons why New Brunswick which used to be very very industrial, and have many jobs the St. John shipyards be one among many has been depleted over the years because of the governments putting their money into schemes like this and for see other people out of work, to have to go other places in the country or the world to find decent employment to feed their families and to pay their bills. Problem is, all the parties are like this except for one. The only party that I can find that is not like this altogether is the People's alliance party of New Brunswick.

Kris Austin, And the People's alliance party of New Brunswick have my photo in the next election in this province. Right now they seem to be the only real choice for those problems. But more so than this, the people of New Brunswick have to stop being so greedy and single-minded. We has New Brunswick is of brought the stuff on ourselves by electing a party that is backwards thinking and wrong headed. This needs to be corrected.

  3. Duality means two opposing or different ways - in other words our bilingual educations system is schizophrenic. As for Micheal's comments about the Liberals being socialists... that is indeed what they pretend to be. Socialists are supposed to fight for the common man and the less fortunate but they are no different than our capitalist friends, the Conservatives.

  4. The liberal minds set is really a hybrid of capitalism and socialism in that respect you could say that it is dualistic. On point of the shipyard closure in Saint John, that was a balance book decision, Irving found that it would be more profitable to build ships in Halifax then in Saint John. It had absolution nothing to do with the government of that time. What it shows is that money has no loyalty.

The problem with New Brunswick's economics is complicated and it has a history dating back to when it it joined confederation, prior to that, New Brunswick had a vibrant economy.

Duality, depends on the context that it is used, duality can also mean two separate, events, conditions etc operating simultaneously which doesn't necessarily mean they have to be opposites for duality.

The problem that we are seeing in the province in-terms of bilingualism is the interpretation of the bilingual section of the constitution.

"Under section 16 of the Charter, the English and French linguistic communities in New Brunswick also have equality of status and equal rights and privileges, including the right to distinct educational institutions and cultural institutions that are needed to preserve and promote those communities. "- Department of Justice (Fed.

Even the Peoples Alliance Party, should they become an elected party would still have to uphold the language rights as set forth in the charter of rights.

So for any elected party the solution is not going to be as simple as just having one bus for both linguistic groups, or terminating duality in the province.

So getting back to the interpretation of section 16, the matter may have to go to the supreme court of Canada to set the parameters to what can be done and what can't be done.

While I don't personally agree with the governments way of dealing with the bilingual issue in New Brunswick, I also understand that government may have no choice in the matter if they are to comply with the charter of rights.
