Well by what the Canadian Bar Association stated that there were a awful lot of innocent people being found guilty if they do not have a lawyer? does the crown not have a duty to not be punishing innocent people,do they not investigate before proceeding with charges? Or is this just the long arm of the law trying to knock charles down a peg or two?
Normal conduct is: the police do not investigate, recommend charges to the Crown, who do not review the evidence, defence counsel works with the Crown to convict and the courts argue for the Crown - unless you have money, in which case defence counsel gets charges dropped. Why do we need all those laws, when nobody cares about them?
