A few day ago, I noticed a old citizen in his late 60s riding a bicycle without a helmet on King Street
I noticed a Police Cruiser outside of Read's Newsstand. Where's there's a Police Cruiser? There a Cop near-by!
I walked inside and noticed many people staring towards my direction but I couldn't see any Cops!
I heard a door close behind and it was a cop quickly walking towards Service New Brunswick!!!
I went on the hunt and shouted at the Cop - HEY??? THERE'S A GUY RIDING A BICYCLE ON THE STREET WITHOUT A HELMET!!! HE'S BREAKING THE LAW!!! HUNT HIM DOWN!!!!
The cop walked towards me and said - Charles...I don't give people tickets for not wearing a helmet...I'm too busy on other issues!!!!
I said - Either you enforce the law to everyone or you don't!!!!!
That was the end of that!!!
Charles, you attract bad karma and therefore, you are going to get nailed.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a bad rep with the police that they will ding you for any minor infraction the rest of us working class citizens will get away with. It's not about enforcing the law on everyone; because the cops have much more important things to do than hand out tickets on minor infractions, but they make an exception for you because you have pissed them off so much.
Get used to the extra scrutiny LeBlanc. You earned it.
Which didn't help land a conviction apparently, and the fact that you keep antagonizing them since.

All you had to do, was shut up all those years ago after you made that video, and walked away; do what you did best back then. Maybe you wouldn't be living such a miserable life you live now.

Its wrong to pick on Charles for that, but the poster is right and charles is wrong about that. Its pretty much accepted in the entire western world that cops have discretion on when they enforce bylaws, or even motor vehicle laws. So the cop was simply stating the obvious. However, for the poster above, the idea that a person should simply accept police harassment as a consequence for monitoring the police makes you a pretty lousy citizen. Thats corruption at its finest and is pretty much the very reason (maybe the ONLY reason) that western law was developed-because the powerful used to get away with anything, and those without power took whatever came their way because others used force on them. You are essentially advocating that we return (or stay) in that state of incivility. Which means, pretty much by definition, that you are admitting that the current power structure is as illegitimate today as it was during the middle ages. Which means, of course, that people are justified in any means to get rid of it, which makes you an anarchist. So ironically, it is Charles in this case who is on the side of justice, and you, not so much.
ReplyDeleteBut again, its pretty much accepted that police don't and can't enforce every law which is out there on every transgressor. In fact its pretty much a guarantee that in their limited training they have no idea what 90% of the laws on the books even are.
