Protesters call for removal of Harvey’s Big Potato Man statue!!!
Maugerville — Taking their cue from similar protests across the United States, several students from UNB and St. Thomas have announced plans to publicly condemn local mascot and tourist attraction Harvey’s Big Potato Man.
What was it about the giant spud that prompted these young people to call for the statue’s removal?
“I see it as a symbol of the patriarchy’s stranglehold on produce,” protester Rachel Facey explained. “I mean, why does it have to be the big potato man?”
“Yeah, plus it looks like a dick,” added fellow protester Alex Cleveland. “Which is totally sexist.”
Facey scrunched up her face. “No it doesn’t.”
Embarrassed, another student muttered something under his breath about girth being what really matters.
The organizers have been planning a demonstration for two weeks now, since the beginning of the fall semester. More than 30 students have come together to condemn the fixture, creating T-shirts and signs that spread their message. They even have a slogan, as Facey is quick to chant:
“You Say Potato — We Say Down with Institutionalized Misogyny!”

R.C.M.P. Officer from Armherst killed near Memramcook will helping citizen change flat tire on Highway!!!!
Too bad....Cop stop to help stranded motorist change his flat and someone drove right into them. Isn't there a law that went you see flashing vehicle you're suppose to move aside?????

VERY dangerous weapon spotted last night at Sunset near the New Brunswick Legislature!! Fredericton S.W.A.T. was on the way!!!!

Fredericton Police continue to hunt down cyclists in heavy traffic this morning!!!!
I heard this siren and I believe a cruiser was taking off for a call...it went on for 10 to 15 seconds.

Blogger makes another book....
Someone approached me last week and said - You came a long way Charles. I saw your name in two books. I believe I made 5 to 6 books < but who's counting? >..Anyway...He mentioned the Jacques Poitras book < which I knew > and the Dennis Oland Book written by Greg Marquis. I didn't know about that one. Today I went into the book store and sure enough my name was in there.
My name will stay in the history books forever I guess....:)
