  1. Boy Charles, you are one great interviewer! Hilarious!

Mr. Carr could start getting his education by simply reading the report that was just released, he doesn't even seem to be aware of it, even though there really wasn't much to it. Plus, there are some pretty vocal protests going on. It seems when you aren't in the party in power it really is a holiday.

However, when it comes to dollars, government is pretty short sighted. First of all, when NB Power sprays, there is whatever health costs could be involved which obviously isn't calculated with just the dollar amount of the chemical or the spraying. Then there is the cost of whatever it may be doing to the environment, but of course for NB Power the cost is simply the chemical versus hiring people to do the cutting.

And even that is short sighted. For example, you could simply give that land to people to farm various crops. Once an herbal crop is growing there, there is no more need to spray OR cut.

Plus, of course, there is the fact that if NB Power or more importantly the forestry companies, hired people to do that work, that is more work for people and more money into the economy, which means less reliance on welfare or EI. So even financially its not so clear its great deal.

And ps, yes they did used to use chemicals, they used DDT and then agent orange right up through the eighties. And people wonder why there are so many physical and mental issues out there in the population.

And I don't worry about government telling me that I can save money by having an electric vehicle, those are things I can figure out for myself. What I'd prefer to hear is whether a politician would support banning those chemicals he thinks 'can't be good for the environment'.

Nice interview Charles, I was out there on the river and must have just missed you!
