Yes the Michaud case definitely was in the early 1980's, '81 or '82 probably, and it was by shovel. If I remember correctly, he was acquitted of the charge. This happened very shortly after I came to Fredericton in 1981.
Late 70 or very early 80th. His last name was Michaud. And they lived on the royal road where it happened.

I think he beat her to death with a shovel, not shot her. Mid to late 70's?
