ReplyDeleteWhy would you talk to them or give them a statement? The police there are nothing more than scribes ! Im sure you could put a mannequin with a sign out front of the police station saying '' Charles Leblanc assaulted me '' and they would lay charges. Just plead not guilty and go to trial and see what pile of crap whatever useless yocal prosecutor comes up with ! Its pretty easy to get charges dropped there because you are essentially dealing with the bottom of the barrel as far as policing and prosecutorial services go .Mistakes abound...
ReplyDeleteAs a tax paying member of the public i find it quite offensive that for some reason you are being treated with kid gloves. if you are being charged with assault the fpf should have arrested you instead of expended the resources of the mpf. you must feel pretty special. i guess it's because your blogging makes you above the law. respectfully charles you are a drain on the system. why can't you just behave yourself like so many others in the community.

DeleteI wish to address some of the comments, particularly that it is "easy" to get charges dropped here - it is not. The Crown and police are corrupt and once charges are laid the judges help them secure convictions of innocent people - I have seen it happen again and again. The Miramichi Police are involved because the FP Farce is in a conflict of interests with Charles, in light of their past conduct and his civil action. As for 16:27's comment - you have no clue what you are talking about and should keep your idiot comments to yourself. Your ignorance is one of the reasons we have such crap policing in this province, It should be noted that, out of all the police forces in New Brunswick, Fredericton is the most complained about force and Miramichi is the second most complained about force - year after year after year. You should do some more research and get your facts straight.

As for 'kid gloves', this is a summary case, which are usually treated off handedly. But yeah, the Fredericton police really don't do themselves any favours, but no doubt are looking for anything because Charles really has few political friends anymore.
ReplyDeleteBut right in the legal code is "Proof of Offence"- the complainant had not consented to the assault (s. 265(3) and (4)) and the complainant had not assaulted, threatened or otherwise provoked the accused and whether it was "more than merely transient or trifling in nature" and "the degree of sobriety of the parties" Clearly more than a couple of those are enough to make any assault charge get thrown out the window.
The Fredericton Police Dept know full well Charles does not strike without provocation and they do know that this screwball is more than likely guilty of assault on Charles! Is this just blatant in your face to charles and that the police can abuse and use the law to harass and distress charles?? This proves how ignorant police are and that their is an agenda more than likely coming from government to mark charles as violent to keep him away from the legislature and to stop him from questioning poiticians which he does too well!

ReplyDeleteI would suspect its more to keep building a 'profile' on Charles. That way fewer people take seriously what he does or says. Its an old standard of 'attacking the messenger". When somebody has criticisms of you, then you make people question the person making the complaints. Although given some of charles remarks, this really isn't necessary, and once again may just shoot the police in the foot and make Joe Public question why it is that the fredericton police really seem to have nothing else to do with their time than chase after charles.
