Should the media have covered the manner The Fredericton S.W.A.T. Team have attack Cop Killer Justin Bourque???

Picture 3474

Should we be concern of the manner the Fredericton S.W.A.T. Team are beating up people after they are handcuff????

Lets not forget that Justin Bourque surrendered to the Police. This wasn't after a huge gun battle.

As debated with my Red Neck Buddy last week.....

  1. First off there is no evidence Mr. Bourque was attacked by the FPF while in handcuffs. The scrapes on his face could be from anything. Given the circumstances (the fact that he killed 3 people) it looks like he came out relatively unscathed.

Second. I think you are confusing intelligence with Mr. Bourque's ability to parrot the nonsensical message of right wing gun nuts and anti government folks. If this guy thought he was being oppressed by the government he was clearly delusional. It's not like were in Russia here. Lending any credence to this anti government BS is unhelpful and downright dangerous.

  4. Anon 14:21 When Government gets through gouging all our services that made Canada such a good place to live you will change your tune unless your a uncivil servant ! Ottawa and Fredericton are taking more and more all the time giving away natural resources to China etc with free trade pacts at our expense and freedoms ,Its not only Bourque who can see this,in fact anyone with a decent IQ can understand this.

Yes Charles Nutcase,He took out a few members so some of them got a few punches and kicks in to get their pound of flesh in for their brethren same as outlaw bikers, not much difference except their bosses are the Government. His beef was really with MPs and MLAs so He should have taken it up with them!

  5. Anon 18:03 Does the nonsense you're spewing have any basis in fact or do you just make up this anti-government rhetoric as you go. Please show some evidence that Canada is "giving away" ALL our resources to China. You do realize that by it's very nature a free trade pact with China will mean access to a huge market for Canadian businesses. This is surely a positive thing especially given the glut of oil we are producing and trying to get to market. I'm tired of hearing this anti government doom and gloom BS.

  6. 18:35 Any basis in fact? Take a good look at your province let alone the country and ask yourself where did all the business go?? Anti Government nah,,good government yes! Positive about what another free trade deal that will give us access to a market that was once here? Government began selling this Country out 30 years ago and now were just about scraping bottom waiting for what, another war to come along to put us on top?

  7. The truth, as usual, is somewhere in the middle. There are a lot of different issues here, Charles touches on one of them which is obvious from reading the evidence released to the public, which is that this guy was clearly a 'nutcase', yet was found fit to stand trial and spend the rest of his life behind bars. This was a pretty young guy who was home schooled by religous gun nuts. There's no doubt what he did was monstrous, but I'd question the notion that he was mentally fit to stand trial, so the legal system is as much an issue as the police.

The anti government stuff is another issue. This guy was upset because he wasn't even fit for military service-which tells you just how crazy he is. However, there was certainly nothing stopping him from going out west and making a decent living, or joining an NGO and doing work in that way.

However, there's no lack of nonsense here. New Brunswick certainly isn't giving its resources to China. Its mostly India, Irving, and Saskatchewan and Brazil (potash) who benefit from the government giveaways. There is ALREADY easy access to China, a free trade deal, like all free trade deals, have almost literally ZERO to do with free trade. So I'm not sure which comment was more nonsensical. For some accurate information, the current oil prices have ZERO to do with a 'glut'. Canada is actually underproducing, hence the desire for a pipeline to New Brunswick so it can get shipped out. This is Saudi Arabia, the worlds largest oil producer, lowering prices in order to protect its market share, which has been put at risk-and quite possibly at the request of the United States in order to do the obvious-which has been to collapse the Soviet currency. So a free trade deal with China will accomplish pretty much zero in that regard.

But for the anti government stuff, I sort of agree. It only takes a little bit of organization and work to make political progress. While there are threats, in general they are not like in Russia or other parts of the world. Charles is quite the agitator, but his 'suffering' at the hands of authorities is pretty benign by world standards (that doesn't make it good).
