Charles hits, like most media, always goes up during times of protest and elections. And charles is almost literally the ONLY place for political coverage outside the lousy coverage of cbc and irving. For the two, even three other parties, its almost the only outreach they have.
But that just brings to mind why the city is being stupid. First, email addresses are free, charles can keep setting up blogs til the cows come home. Second, nobody in their right mind believed the 'garbage' and 'lies' that charles was stating about policy, and third, it shows that the city really has very little on its plate that it is bothering with this stuff. I doubt ANY blogger in the western world gets the kind of interest from local authorities that Charles does. All this action does is make people think 'police state', and the number of cases which have been introduced by charles and then verified by third parties shows that there is more than one reason Charles is watched.
Its interesting though that in the above its charles, a lone guy with a little blog than nobody has to look at is doing the 'bullying', while the government and institutions which have arrested him continuously for years are considered 'the victims'. That's actually pretty funny and shows that charles isn't the only guy capable of writing 'garbage'.
But I suppose like the Fredericton city councillor said, 'thats not something I know anything about".
Not long ago Charles had a nice relationship with the Fredericton police force and he was even buddy buddy with a bunch of them. What changed all this? Charles made the mistake of video taping a few of the Fredericton police forces finest beating the crap out of a defenseless Canadian soldier. Right there the crap started to happen. Until then Charles was viewed as Fredericton media and all the cops would gladly talk to him. As soon as the video Charles took went public he wasn't considered media and was the Fredericton police forces #1 enemy. They harassed him a bunch of times and they even stopped him to give him a fine for riding a bike either on the sidewalk or without a helmet...I don't remember witch. Charles has posted a shitload of others doing the same while the fpd were looking on and nothing was ever done. Charles then exposed the abuse that that pore Wombat women went through and is still going through because of the crooked fpd abuse. Then the fpd were really out to get Charles .....hmmm how can we stop Charles from exposing all of the corrupt things we do??? so they wanted to raid his place and seize his computer thinking ....hey..if we seize his computer then the welfare bum wont have anyway of exposing all of the corrupt things we do and he wont be able to afford to buy a other computer. Wrong because Charles has lots of followers that will donate a computer so he can keep blogging. So the fpd decided that the only way they can get a search warrant was to go to his internet provider and LIE TO THEM saying....hey! this guy is in child porn and we need to shut him down, we need his ip address and need to know every where this guy went on the internet. So they raided Charles place and took everything computer related he had in his place. Charles is finished they thought....yayyyy Wrong. Charles was back online with a new donated computer in a few days It was proven that Charles was not into child porn and all of there bull shit charged against him were dropped. This is just a fraction of the crap charles has went through. If they had any clue who they were dealing with they would back off and make peace with him. In his 20s and 30s Charles would fight with his fists. if he lost a fight he would fight the guy again and again until he won. Now days he fights with words and if they think they can shut him up then there dreaming. The more you push Charles the more he will fight back. If they had any brains they would just let him be and do his thing
Charles, why not get a off shore server that way you can say and do what ever you want and no one can ever shut you down. $50 a year is all it cost.

The election is another matter entirely and has nothing to do with his gripes against the police. When he interviews politicians that has nothing to do with his gripes against the police, he is just providing a voice for them, which the public wouldn't otherwise see. These are institutional problems, the main one here being that police police themselves. Other provinces have separate civilian bodies which are by no means perfect, but better than NB. Just the other day there was another report out of Saint John that RCMP investigated a police killing and said everything was kosher.
Unfortunately, Charles just does a bad job of highlighting the institutional changes necessary-or even the problems. Charles problems began before Fredericton when he was arrested by the Saint John police for taking photos at the Atlantica business conference. At that point not only was he hauled to the ground and arrested, but his camera was taken and all his photos deleted.
This case went to trial before the judge threw it out and called the arresting police officer a liar who lied under oath. And once again nothing was done to that officer, and no apologies were made to Charles.
So anybody that thinks Charles is the bad guy in this scenario might want to watch a few of the media specials going on right now about the militarization of police. Its not just going on in the states, as any native or person in Kent County can tell you. These are institutional problems which were formerly associated with dictatorships but are now being seen more often in Canada-although they've certainly always been around.
Now we've got Stephen Harper using Canada Revenue agency to 'target' charities who dare oppose them, and police forces dressing in military gear to attack peaceful protests, and in this corner, city officials closing off a blog because the blogger says not nice things about them. Once again New Brunswick can proudly show off its colours that it has the worst human rights record in the country. Good show!
First of all you can't properly interview, a politician or otherwise, by starting with "What to you think of the racist pigs, I mean cops?" Or you can't continually accost someone on the street to whine about bike helmets and still be considered credible and appropriate. There is always an agenda with Charles, so no other voice is heard.
Further to Maurice the homeless guy. If this blog is to be cleaned up and considered credible, Charles should not post insults about other people. Calling the Wambolts Wambats is cruel and bullying behaviour and should not be posted. Maurice is neither homeless nor a poor speller. He knows exactly what he is doing. All people should be treated with respect and that includes Charles.
The blog went well past not nice things. It was cruel and harassing and stalking. Charles stalked some officers for a picture. I am no fan of the FPD and feel much should be done to improve it but trying to take the offensive and not admitting that it was way over the line in an obsessive manner is just not taking responsibility and continuing a war like agenda.
